Charlie started the company in January of 1997. He named the company Euclid Technology in reference to the ancient mathematician Euclid, known as the father of geometry. The idea was that, where Euclid applied mathematics to make sense of the physical world, Euclid Technology would “create opportunity through the intelligent use of technology.” Prior to founding Euclid, Charlie was working as a Management Consultant where he advised senior management teams at global corporations on how to utilize technology to achieve business objectives. The work was challenging, educational, and involved extensive travel (and long hours). It was a tremendous learning experience, but Charlie was an entrepreneur at heart and he really missed building software.
