He has over 30 years of executive leadership experience across a variety of blue chip organizations. Alan brings a strong track record of leading retail and restaurant organizations through successful turnarounds and through periods of exceptional growth. Prior to Potbelly, Alan provided strategic and executional consulting services to organizations in transition. From April 2007 to September 2015, he served as Chief Executive Officer of BevMo!, a specialty retailer of alcoholic beverages and related products. Prior to that, Alan served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, and as Chief Operating Officer of Regal Theaters (formerly known as Hoyts Cinemas). In addition, Alan spent six years at PepsiCo in increasing leadership positions, culminating as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for PepsiCo’s Eastern Europe restaurant division. Prior to that, he served as International Strategic Planning Director for Pizza Hut International. Alan is on the Board of Directors of Saucey, a wine, beer & spirits on-demand delivery start-up. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney Australia. ABOUT POTBELLY Potbelly Corporation owns and operates Potbelly Sandwich Works sandwich shops in the United States. The Company has domestic and international franchise operations of Potbelly Sandwich Works sandwich shops. As of December 25, 2016, the Company operated Potbelly Sandwich Works sandwich shops in 29 states and the District of Columbia. As of December 25, 2016, the Company had a domestic base of 441 shops in 29 states and the District of Columbia. Of these, the company operated 411 shops, and franchisees operated 30 shops, as of December 25, 2016. As of December 25, 2016, the Company had 13 international franchised shops, which included 11 shops in the Middle East, a shop in the United Kingdom and a shop in Canada.
