He has more than 30 years of experience as a results-driven healthcare executive. Brian’s dynamic skillset is rooted in deep expertise in pharmacy benefit management, specialty pharmacy, and health plan leadership. Most recently, he served since March 2018 as executive vice president and CEO for IngenioRx, the pharmacy benefit manager he built and launched for Anthem. For the previous three years, Brian led Anthem’s commercial and specialty business division. He joined the company in 2013 as president and CEO of its second-largest affiliated health plan, Empire BlueCross BlueShield. Before his time with Anthem, he spent 25 years at Medco Health Solutions, which was acquired by Express Scripts in 2012. In more than a decade as president of Medco’s health plan division, Brian managed relationships with national and regional health plans, BlueCross BlueShield plans, commercial insurance carriers, consumer-driven plans, and third-party administrators.
