Ms. Odess as an operator has held senior executive roles in multinational companies and start-ups such as Johnson & Johnson, Advanced Stent Technologies acquired by BSC, 2005 and Carbostent and Implantable Devices acquired by Alvimedica Medical Devices Inc., 2013. Ms. Odess’ has led companies from concept to clinical application. Ms. Odess created multiple businesses acquired by multi-billion dollar medical device companies. Ms. Odess’ negotiated over thirty worldwide partnerships and established corporate operations in Israel for Johnson & Johnson. Ms. Odess served as Chair of the Board of several medical device companies, directing the CEOs and companies’ strategy and funding. Ms. Odess directed international medical technology investments and management buyouts for an international family office based in Italy. Ms. Odess was responsible for Johnson & Johnson’s acquisition of two businesses. Ms. Odess has been recognized for creating successful, innovative solutions for medical devices receiving three awards. Frost & Sullivan’s award for innovation. The State of Connecticut 2014 Woman of the Year award for entrepreneurial innovation and leadership. Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame for Global Impact, awarded 2015. Ms. Odess is the Co-founder and CEO of a medical device company established 2013, Woven Orthopedic Technologies. Also known as “Woven,” Woven Orthopedic Technologies designs and develops specialized orthopedic solutions enhancing fixation screws used in patients undergoing surgical procedures. Woven’s initial product, OGmend ® Implant System provides a simple, repeatable, and standardized solution for orthopedic surgeons facing screw fixation challenges resulting from patients’ conditions. The OGmend ® achieves fixation in compromised bone scenarios arising from smoking, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, cancer, chemotherapy treatments, and acute-locational stress. Woven’s OGmend ® Implant System is a platform technology designed for use in various indications. Woven is focused initially on the trauma and spine markets, a $2.3B potential market opportunity. Woven will be expanding into dental, veterinary, small bone, and joint applications in the future. The OGmend ® technology is approved for commercial use in Europe. CE mark certificate was issued October 5, 2018. OGMend ® is available in Australia and New Zealand. OGmend ® devices have been implanted in humans with good clinical outcome and no adverse events.
