At OmegaFi, Maglione leads 121 employees providing financial management software and CRM solutions used by more than 300,000 college student members of fraternities and sororities across the United States. OmegaFi is the most prominent and comprehensive technology- solution provider in the fraternal industry. The 25 year-old company helps fraternal organizations increase their bottom line and effectively bill and collect dues, rent and fees, manage rosters and records, pay bills and employees, file tax returns and connect with their members through social and business management tools. Since taking the reigns as CEO in 2013, Maglione has increased revenue by 46% and more than doubled EBITDA. During that same time he drove innovation by upgrading key products to mobile-first technology and significantly expanding data security and compliance systems. In December 2015, he also secured funding from New York-based Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity fund that invests in financial services and financial technology businesses. Shortly thereafter, Maglione helped launch Togetherwork a holding company focused on acquiring and bringing together entrepreneurial businesses providing SaaS solutions to specialized groups and organizations beyond the fraternal market. In addition to his role as CEO of OmegaFi, Maglione serves as COO of Togetherwork and has successfully acquired 12 different software companies with deep market expertise in the camp, synagogue, golf club, sports and recreation, nonprofit and other niche markets focused on unique groups and constituencies. “After a little research, we realized there were hundreds of software companies serving a very specialized niche industry similar to the fraternal world where OmegaFi works but with some very specific needs due to their unique customer FRED MAGLIONE CEO of OmegaFi base,” explained Maglione. “Togetherwork provides us the opportunity to bring many companies together and coordinate where there are commonalities – around payment processing, especially – but still focus on the features and needs specific to the customer.” Togetherwork harnesses the payment processing expertise and platforms developed at OmegaFi to reduce processing costs and improve service delivery. Each Togetherwork company benefits from shared resources and has access to innovative technology to get to market faster with new products and features for their customer base. Under Maglione’s oversight, major Togetherwork technology, payments, finance and HR operations all run out of the OmegaFi headquarters and Togetherwork operations center in Columbus, Georgia. In addition to Maglione’s CEO and COO titles, he is an attorney licensed to practice law in the states of Florida and Georgia. With more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit management industry, Maglione has earned the prestigious designation of “Certified Fund Raising Executive” from CFRE International. Respected as a calm, analytical thinker with a proven ability to effect transformational change, Maglione began his career as a fundraising development officer at Florida State University, his alma mater. After a brief period practicing law, he went to work as a nonprofit fundraising consultant with OmegaFi in 2001. From there, his role expanded and grew to leading departments and then divisions of the company until he was named president in 2013. “I’m very optimistic about the future,” said Maglione. “Individuals still have a need to connect with others and feel a sense of belonging. So many critical organizations and associations important to our way of life in the United States can use software to strengthen the connection and provide a better experience to their members, donors, registrants and friends. It’s exciting to be part of something that helps so many people connect with the institutions most important to them.” www.omegafi.com
